I can relate to this. DD has dyspraxia and has always had difficulty with PE, practical Music, some aspects of D and T etc. However, academically, she has always been high achieving. She received a significant amount of serious bullying in secondary school some of it focused on the fact that she was considered 'brainy'. Sometimes, particularly at results times it can feel like the bulk of the positive attention is on achievement which is not always under a student's control rather than effort which is. This can contribute to feelings of frustration and resentment towards 'brainy' students which isn't desirable for any one.

We will be away for my nieces results day in 2021. We had originally planned to surprise them all but felt we should let her make the decision as to whether she is home for results. She decided she’d rather be in Florida with us! But I agree it’s a personal choice and like others I hadn’t given enrolment much thought, so maybe something I need to look into!
