Milan - family friendly dining

Hi

We are going to Milan for the weekend for the football. It’s years since we’ve been and this time we will have ds (12) with us.

We are staying around the train station area and are looking at suggestions for couple of nights dinner and a nice lunch around there or in the center.

Thanks for any advice.

We stayed close to the train station and went to this restaurant one night, mainly because it was next to our hotel, but we were pleasantly surprised, it was cheap but the pasta was delicious and service was great - pianetaluna.it/

No problem, there’s a nice gelato shop a few streets down, near the station there is a Burger King and McDonald’s (I know not particularly nice but good in a rush) and actually inside the station is a quick pizza restaurant, we grabbed a giant slice for our train journey for 5 euros and it was delicious!

If you go down to the canal there are lovely restaurants along there too, I’d avoid eating near the cathedral, it’s lovely to look at but all of the restaurants are so expensive!

Thanks. If we are running late getting there it’s always good to know McDonald’s is a standby.

We did the canal area years ago before ds but I wasn’t sure if on a Saturday night it would be a good choice with him.

To be fair we went in the day so it was a different vibe, not sure how it would be in the evening, but we did travel on the metro in the evening and found it felt safe etc. Staying at the train station was great actually, so easy to get around! We visited during the heatwave in June (it was hitting 42 degrees! ) so didn’t do as much sightseeing as we would have liked!

Wow, that heat is it certainly would have impacted on what you could do. Looks like it will probably be raining when we go😂
