Free dining 2021
I know that none of us have a crystal ball but what do we think the prospects are for free dining in 2021? We are planning to go probably early September having just returned from a fab holiday. I am aware of the 50th celebration so also wondering if this will effect any offers? The free dining is a deal breaker for us given the high cost of food.
Any thoughts/comments welcome. |

I think it may continue but each year we have seen less availability in standard rooms and now for 2020 some resorts and dates are excluded. I think it will be even more restricted if offered for 2021.

It will be WDW's 50th anniversary in 2021 so they may decide they need no incentives.

Just to add, the high cost of food is due to being onsite. As is the higher cost in general.
Staying offsite and paying less for the accom, alongside cheaper offsite dining choices make it an attractive option if sticking to a budget. We’ve stayed onsite at both Disney and Universal (HRH) for 2 wks at a time and are staying offsite for the first time next year and the difference in price from staying onsite doesn’t come close to what we’ll spend on food in those 2 weeks. Just some “food for thought” 🙈 if free dining isn’t available or doesn’t suit your dates.

Staying onsite with free dining this summer meant we spent the least we have ever done whilst on holiday, £289 in total over 10 days for the four us which was purely on tips. By comparison, we spent £356 over 4 days whilst onsite at Universal. I really hope they offer free dining in 2021 as we are planning to go back. It makes staying onsite much more cost effective for us.

British market is important to Disney... Its not getting easier to go... Very doubtful it won't be offered but no one really knows...

Considering the last DDP offer only to be replaced with the exact same terms a few days later and the stories in the press about attendance levels I’m banking on it being available when we go in 2021

I guess we will find out in April 2020! I think we might want to go in 2021 and loved having the free dining so fingers crossed they run it again. If they don't, we will stay offsite as it's a deal breaker for us.
