I would recommend aiming to arrive 2-3 hours before for either of these launches being in the evening, and the next one being well publicized as well.

Space View Park is one of the nicer places to watch, and a lot of people head there. See the guide for info on where it is exactly.

It's official: STS-125/Atlantis is now due to lift off on Oct. 14 at 10:19pm EDT. STS-126/Endeavour is now due to lift off Nov. 16 at 7:07pm EST.

This thread has given me loads of good tips. I didn't think we'd get to see it, but unless the date changes drastically, then we will! Can I ask though, will the Space Centre be absolutely heaving that day, or closed to visitors even? We had planned to have a day there anyway during our trip, or would it be best to go and watch the launch and do the visit on another day?

You will have to have launch day tickets to go there on launch day. Tickets for the November launch for the causeway viewing and the visitors complex are not on sale yet and probably won't be until after the STS-125 launch in October launches.

Thanks for that info... you can tell I'm a newbie to all this! I should have realised that.

I've had a look at those photos, and now I can't wait to be there!

Tickets to view the STS-126 launch from the NASA Causeway and KSC Visitor Complex will go on-sale at 9:00 a.m. EDT, Wednesday, October 8 at:

ksctickets/ltt.html

...as well as by phone at 321-449-4400.

Launch ticket orders cannot be placed via email or by leaving a voice mail message. You must place your order online or by speaking to a reservation agent.

STS-126 is targeted to launch on November 14 at 7:55 p.m. EDT on a logistics, supply & repair mission to the International Space Station.
