Was anyone in the parks Easter 2016?

We are booked on our first WDW holiday for 14 nights from 12th April 2017, which includes Easter weekend (14,15,16 Apr). Looking at the busy day guide for Easter 2016 it predicted that MK, Epcot and HS would all be recommend - but how busy did they actually turn out to be?

The busy day guide for our fortnight isn't available yet and there's only 4 weeks until I can book ADRs, so I'm sketching out a rough itinerary but I'm not sure what is best to go for over Easter.

Would really appreciate guidance from anyone who's been over Easter in the past!

We found MK to be heaving on Easter weekend we did our morning fps went back for a swim and came back in the evening, the other parks were OK. We did plan our fps and if we saw a short queue ride we jumped on, we also went to the parks in the rain (that really cleared people out)
I think it depends on what the USA school holidays, or spring break dates are.
We're booked for easter next year because we found it to be OK 90% of the time.

Pleased to hear you found the parks OK most of the time, we have never been at Easter and saw some cheap flights so booked leaving on the 5th April. I think if we avoid MK over the bank hol weekend we should be ok!

Going back a fair while now, I did easter weekend in 2011 - the weekend as a whole was as busy as high season would normally be, but the morning of easter Sunday itself, spent in Hollywood Studios, was a ghost town - 5-10 minute queues for pretty much everything without fast passes, right up until lunchtime when it suddenly started filling up again. Assumed it was due to people actually attending religious events to do with easter Sunday?

with the fastpasses it was manageable, Universal was worse even with the express passes.
If you arrive early and plan your fastpasses cleverly then it will be grand. Middle of the day got very busy.
SW was quiet though any day

Just for info, just because a park is recommended on the busy day guide does not mean it won't be very busy. It just means that, if you were to go a park on that day, it might be a good idea not to go to the "not recommended" parks because they might be even busier than the others.

Otherwise, MK would never be recommended (MK is always busier than the other parks) and nothing would ever be recommended during Christmas, Easter, and other busy times.
