Difference between old and new fastpass
Hi me and my family will be going to Orlando 20th August till 5th September 2018
We all last went in February 2010 and planned it all really well and saw just about everything using the old fastpass system with all the tips and getting to the park early What I'd like to know is does anybody find the new fastpass+ any better or easier than the old fastpass |

There are pros and cons. With the new FP you can book in advance which doesn't suit non planners. The benefit of that is there's no need to arrive at park opening and sprint to the popular rides to get a FP. It also means you can do an afternoon/evening in the parks and still do the top rides. One down side is that some parks have tiering which means you can't get FP for all the big rides.

I found the new fastpass+ better.
First, you prebook 3 fastpasses in your own time. No having to get to the park early and rushing to get those hard-to-get paper fastpasses. You'll know before you arrive whether or not you have fastpasses for the popular rides. If not, then you know to head to those first and leave the rides you already have prebooked fastpasses for. So it helps you plan things. Second, once you've used the 3 prebooked fastpasses the system becomes very similar to the old system. However, instead of the old days of having to walk to a ride to get a fastpass and not knowing when the fastpass return time will be (or even if there are any fastpasses left!) until you get there, now you can do all that on your mobile phone whilst sat having a drink or waiting for a different ride or watching the parade or whatever. The negatives are: 1. It helps if you have a plan of which park you'll visit on which day in advance (30 or 60 days in advance!). You don't have to do this - you can book fastpasses on the day or the night before. But availability of a small number of popular rides will be very limited. Mind you, that was the same problem if you arrived at a park late morning in the old days. 2. More people know about fastpasses now and therefore more people are using the fastpass system.
