Hi I would like some information about the fast pass system I no how it works with rides but iv seen Somone say they used it for river of lights I don't understand isn't that just a show outside wouldent you just walk up to it anyways?

ROL is a show but the best seating in in a semi circular stadium so that's what the FPs are for.

You watch Rivers of Light in an outdoor stadium. The stadium has a limited number of seats. Therefore there is a small chance the stadium will be full if you just walked up to it (and, by the way, there tends to be a long queue to get inside it rather than just walking up to it).

A fastpass guarantees you a place inside the stadium and also means you can turn up around 20 mins before the show rather than queuing outside for 45mins or more.

Disney haven't released any details for the Rivers of Light show in November yet. That could be due to a few things. It's most likely that they haven't finalised the details yet and will add this nearer the time. However, there's a slim chance they may decide to stop this show and not show it in November - this is unlikely given all the time and effort they've put into creating RoL.

I'd wait until closer to November to see what happens.

Oh, by the way, you can get fastpasses for other shows as well.

These shows include the Lion King and Finding Nemo shows at AK, Illuminations firework show and Pixar Short Film show at Epcot, Beauty and the Beast/Indiana Jones Stunt show/Frozen Sing-Along/Fantasmic at Hollywood Studios, etc.

Most of the time, you don't really need fastpasses for these. You'd be better using your fastpasses for the rides. Rivers of Light is probably the only one I'd recommend getting.

I had a ROL dining package but I ended up cancelling it. Then one evening we were in AK until quite late and realised it was on so we just stuck our headsthrough the entrance and to be honest we got a perfectly good view. We concluded no need for FP or for dining package.
