Just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone that takes the time to reply to questions and post in this forum, particularly those who make the effort to do trip reports!
I've just got back from a week in Vegas celebrating my husbands 50th and it was absolutely brilliant, in part due to this forum and the trip reports of Nastynoo and Abiknox in particular so thank you very much! We had perfect meals and a fantastic time due to your recommendations and ideas!

Hi Jo,
We didn't in the end- tbf it was hubbys birthday and he wasn't keen so I didn't force it. We ended up booking a trip to the west rim with Grand Adventures who I can't recommend highly enough. There were only five of us and the guide was fab - really went out of way to make it enjoyable

The Elara was lovely, such a nice hotel, fantastic location, and not having a casino actually was a bonus- felt you could escape and it was really secure you could only get to the rooms and pool with a swipe card. We only had a studio but it was huge! I'll upload some photos to my profile when I get a chance.

Glad you had a wonderful time. I just love Elara. Just got back yesterday. We were in Elara Thursday having a look around for our Jan. stay.Love how you just walk out into MM shops. I like that it does not have a casino too. Would really love to see some pics please. I think to see the south rim you need an overnight stay so I think you did the right thing. So did you not bother with a car? We had one for the day and cost us $12 to park. Traffic was a nightmare and we were glad to take it back, and only had it about 12 hours, but did Valley of Fire which was gorgeous. Please dont forget about pics

Aww lovely photies. So pleased you enjoyed it. Elara looks lovely and that studio would be perfect for us. Thanks for posting them. Happy planning. We loved San Fran and San Diego.

Glad you had a great time Tracie, thank you for adding the photos, they're great. We're staying at the Elara in September so it's nice to know you enjoyed it there, we stayed at the Signature Suites last year so are hoping the Elara is just as good.
