I think this is exactly the problem. No Valet Parking crew are going to admit any damage. They will do everything to deny it. The onus would be on the car renter to prove who damaged the car which I think would be pretty much impossible.
I think it would be naive to think that either the valet company or the car hire company will be interested in helping you out.

We always valet park whenever possible.Never had a problem in 30+ years. The information is a good "heads up" so will enquire when booking/collecting as to what extra insurance will be needed in future to avoid any problems.I will be very surprised if the insurance companies cannot/will not cover us.We'll see! Thanks. Linda

They may have cover but how would you prove that they caused the damage as they will simply deny it and the onus would be on you to prove they caused any damage. They wont want a claim. Also I have seen signs often sating that parking is at "Owners Risk".

I hate valet parking, I resented having to use it when we were in Vegas and that was the only option. I don't like relinquishing control of my vehicle and detest waiting for it to be brought back!

Good idea. I have just emailed Alamo back to ask if they offer an additional cover that includes valet parking. I will update this thread when I get an answer.

In view of the title to this thread, OP, please let us know if this is the case with all of the car hire operators, or if it's just Alamo.

Alamo is who I have my car booked with so they are the only company I have enquired to.
I would guess it would be similar across other companies. If you plan to use valet parking, I would suggest asking them directly.
I have followed up with Alamo asking if they offer cover for this - though n o response as yet.

You could also say the same about the car getting damaged after you have parked it. The insurance company could refuse your claim saying you didn't look after it in accordance with the rental agreement, but how likely is this? If the valet company says they didn't damage it then it must have been "in your care" in which case the insurance would payout.
If it was stolen then the valet company would be liable as they have the keys and it was in their care. With how sue happy Americans are I some doubt that any reputable valet company would risk not having any insurance.

I've just been doing some digging and believe it or not but Disney do not do the valet parking. It's sub contracted just like Disney Transport is.
