Fab announcement, I am really pleased they are putting something else into DHS and it's certainly got the buzz going with my boys. Can't wait.

such a long time for this announcement and am so thrilled they are actually doing it!
Hurrah!

But boo-doesn't look like we'll be going next year (1st time in 10 years we've missed disney) BUT hey ho-we'll go the following year, so have more time to save up!

Hope it's ready by then
Hope Disney Springs is ready too (cannot get used to this name at all )
and I'd LOVE to see Avator finished too before we come back.

Les

You might want to let your hubby down now as there's absolutely no chance it will be open in 2017. This is a HUGE project for Disney who are always incredibly slow at delivering new projects.

It'll take them until at least 2020 to open it fully. New Fantasyland is a good example of a major Disney infrastructure project.

I think you might be pleasantly surprised. I'm a consultant in technologies and process to make the AEC (Architectural, Engineering and Construction) industries more efficient.

Disney Imagineering have been investing heavily in new process, such as BIM (Building Information Modelling) and new construction techniques. Have a look at how they built the castle in Shanghai (lineshapespace/enchanted-...-in-the-cloud/)

I really wanted to apply for a job with them recently as an innovation specialist, but it doesn't work with my circumstances. They are doing some really clever things at the moment to become more efficient. (Incidentally, Disney are not particularly 'inefficient' when measured against the rest of the AEC, it might just seem that way when your waiting for it as a customer)

Previous projects have very much been run using old process, although FantasyLand did have some limited BIM processes. (You can see it on the extras for the Cinderella (latest release) believe it or not!). Processes like BIM and new 3D modelling and simulation process is speeding the process up dramatically. I would anticipate this been delivered a lot faster than previous projects.

I'm going with 2019, 2020.

Avatarland in a couple of years and then this.

I'm hoping to get back to Florida maybe for around 2017, but I'll see how things pan out, would be good to do it in 2017 and then again when SW land opens, but if not, might just delay it.

They had a much smaller footprint to build on G. Credit where its due tho, Universal are ahead of the game in terms of getting new stuff to market.
