NCL Escape? Has anyone been on it?

Looking for an alternative to DCL as too expensive for us next year

Like one of NCL trips to Mexico on the Escape in July 2017 and just wondered if anyone has been on it? I know it's a big ship snd wonder if it's a bit too big for us?

Also, is it better to book early or wait with NCL? They currently have a few free packages you can choose from ie drinks package or dining?

Thanks

We are doing the 6 night western Caribbean cruise on escape in August. Very excited as looks like there's loads to do on it.
We got the free drinks package - I'm excited about that too!
Can let you know when we get back.

We did a preview cruise, just a one night, in October.
There were things I liked and didn't like. I can only compare to DCL and RC.
The main thing was our stateroom was really poorly soundproofed. As in we could hear next doors conversations word for word. Didn't get much sleep as it was more of a party cruise due to being just the one night. They were nice and modern but sleep is important to me so it really put me off.
They have Howl at the Moon and Margaritville onboard which we loved very much.
Main dining was ok. I don't find any cruise lines main dining outstanding so I would prob say it was on par.
In general we found the crew unfriendly but I will say everyone was stressed out because it was one of the very first sailings. I would hope once things settled down and the crew settled into the ship that would change.
My personal opinion was that you get what you pay for. NCL have amazing prices that DCL simply don't come close to. If you are ok with dropping a little quality for a substantially better price then I don't think you'll be disappointed.
I wouldn't sail them again from my experience but I fully appreciate it was an inaugural sailing and that could be why we had many issues.
