New York v Orlando ?
Hi Guys ,
We head to NYC for 3 days before Florida , is NYC likely to be more expensive for full price items ( not outlets ) ? Girls will be looking at Sephora, Mac etc and I'm looking for a Coach or Kate Spade bag ... Not sure if I'll be able to stop the girls shopping in NYC but will try if I know it's going to be cheaper in Florida |

I haven't really done much shopping in either, but have visited both. I think NYC in general is more expensive so would assume for full price shopping it would be too... Plus different states may have different taxes which won't be shown on the price tag!

We went to NY about 10 yrs ago and compared with Florida thought it was more expensive. Probably as it is a big tourist trap for shopping whereas Florida is but Disney is the focal point. We didn't go to any outlet malls.

We found NY to be much more expensive, mainly as they are full priced goods and not outlets.

New York is more expensive as their sales tax is higher then Orlando. (I Cant remember how much tho) I would Defo try and do your shopping in orlando instead of New York

Except if you go to Century 21 near the 9/11 tribute area... like a big department store, designer stuff at outlet prices... save the shopping up for there!

It used to be a bit of a jumble sale in there, I just couldn't cope with having to rummage for bargains. Might have improved in the past few years though. If you go, avoid lunchtimes as its full with women on their lunch breaks ! Personally I wouldn't spend time shopping in New York. You are there for only 3 days and there's lots to pack into that time. You'll love New York. |

whitec - I have a slightly different view to the people above (although they are all correct in everything they say... )
There is only one time to buy something - when you see it. If you see a bag that you really like, at a price you are happy with - BUY IT There is no guarantee you will get to Orlando and find the same one, even more unlikely to find it in the outlets. |
