Driving to Busch, could we manage an ADR & Fireworks at HS afterwards?
Hi all,
Currently fine tuning my plans and need some rough advice. If we drive to Busch Gdns, setting off around 08:30ish, what sort of time could we expect to be back at International Drive after a reasonable day at the park? It's just I'm trying to squeeze a dinner ADR and Star Wars fireworks at HS after Busch Gdns if possible or does that sound like a long shot? Cheers |

I'd say it's not enough time to fit in a proper dinner, at a push you might just about make the show for 8.45pm. We left villa at about 9.15am, got there for about 10.30 and we left at closing so was about 6.30 by the time we got back to the car. We were knackered (and still very damp from the rapid ride we had done at 3pm!) that was going on every big ride there. We stopped off for a mcdonalds on the way home (kids had been pestering for an "america" M'ds) and we didn't get back to our villa till about 8.30.

I think you would be knackered by the end of the day, there's lots to see and do,its around an hour and a half each way depending on traffic.

Yeah I thought it was optimistic but thought I'd throw it out there! Will have to shuffle plans some other way.
Thanks for the advice :-) |

Depends on what you want to do at Busch - we went in August, arrived at opening and following a "ride plan" (it is on here somewhere...) done all the big rides by 1pm which then gave us time to do a few other things before leaving c3/4pm

What time do you want to eat? Leace BG 90 minutes earlier.
Goung when it's qyiet, we can fit in every major ride several times in 6 hours. DW even makes us spend time looking at monkeys and crocigators and we still do Sheikra 3 times. Might be different in Summer |

How do the park hour stack up on the day of your visit?
We found Easter time BGT quite easily accessible despite the distance due to less traffic and in high season the show times can be quite late - if it's high season, you're willing to either eat early, or eat upon arrival at DHS before the show, and can get into BGT early enough to get it done by early evening, then I think this plan is viable, but I don't know the Star Wars show times, this didn't exist at the time of our last trip. Of course, you run the risk of having your plans controlled by traffic conditions getting back from Tampa in the evening. |

Hi, here at the moment and have been to Busch Gardens several times from Davenport ( Champoins Gate ) area.
I would say you should allow around 90 minutes or so from leaving your door to actually being in the park through security and the tram etc. Then at least 75 minutes to get back. Speed limits here plus congestion dictate that. Busch Gardens is a large park ( land area ) and takes a long time to get around. Depending on what you want to see but you still have to walk around it, it's big! By the time you get here it will be shutting earlier ( around 5pm maybe ) but look up the gate times and see what you think. There's lots to see and do there
