Mobile Uber high price

I'm trying to get an uber from universal to all star music. Normally the price is about $19 But it's coming up $117.00! Can't afford that. Can anyone advise on my options please

You could try Mears. They have shared shuttles or taxis.

Have you double checked that you've entered the address properly? Sorry, I know it sounds obvious, but it's easy to tap on the wrong address from the drop down list sometimes. I've just checked the fare estimator and even with surge pricing it doesn't go that high.

Panic over. Managed to get one. Just as I was about to get mears taxi I thought I would try one last time and it came up at a normal price of $21. I nearly had a heart attack when I saw the first price though lol. It came up that prices were higher because it was busy or something. Thank you for replying.

Hi all. Back from our fantastic holiday now. Just thought I should add on to this our final experience of uber that day.

When we got back to our hotel that evening I got another email from Uber saying they had adjusted our fare by an extra $5.60. There was no explanation in the email why. So I emailed back to ask.

Uber quickly replied explaining that the driver had reported to them that there were more than 4 of us so they had adjusted the price to reflect this.

This was completely not true, there were 4 of us (2 adults and 2 children) and I told them this and also that we would not have fit in the car had there been anymore as it was a five seater. They quickly replied saying they would put our fare back to original price.

I did think it a little strange when the driver collected us and drove up to the exit junction of universal and stopped in the road and went on his mobile phone until he was bibbed from behind. Now I know why.

Other than that though my experience of Uber was excellent and would definitely use them again. But might feel more cautious.
