Must be I think.

Quick question for you Tom as I know you will know the answer.

I have just checked my BA Avios Points and I can get a Ford Edge with Avis for £320 which I am happy with. They include the following:-

•UNLIMITED Miles
•Tax and Surcharge
•Third Party Liability (TPL)
•Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)
•CUSTOMER FAC FEE
•STATE SURCHARGE
•TIRE & BATTERY FEE
•VEH. LICENSE FEE

Does that sound standard or will I need any extra insurance on top?

Hope you don't mind me asking.

Thanks

Thats the standard full cover. Same as Alamo and Hertz so you are good to go with that.
The only thing I can't see listed is State Tax but I'm sure it's in there and is just badly worded as the State Surcharge.

Some buy the Enhanced Roadside Assistance, most don't. I never do.
But if you do want it ref lost keys etc go DIY never use the rental company as it's too expensive!
Let me know if you do but most use Money Maxim or this one.

Yep - that is a good price. My dates are a couple of days after you and I'm staying one night longer. Your rate, pro-rata, is almost the same. I've been monitoring full size SUVs since about October last year for my dates. Up until Christmas, nearly all sites were £800+. Virgin was about £650. In Feb, I finally saw that Netflights had dropped to about £610 so I booked knowing I had free cancellation and could get Quidco. I noticed last week that Alamo/Brits dropped to about £540, so I'm now booked with Alamo.

One caveat - I didn't check every site every day and so may have missed some great bargains, however for these rough dates, these are about the best full-size SUV prices I've seen in about 6 months. Also, if you book and keep monitoring Alamo and the price goes down, you can modify your booking to take advantage of the price drop.

Sadly it's no good for me anymore as my back is so bad I find it difficult to get into a saloon so hire an SUV.
The downside is my Wife has a bad shoulder and finds it hard to swing into an SUV!
We are both falling apart.
Oh no that’s a shame! bit annoying that you can’t find a car that suits both you well.

Ha ha. My Wife is fine with the SUV she just has to be careful not to pull herself in with her right arm. More of an issue here for the passenger side than America where she is using her left arm. Plus she wont drive anywhere, here or out there!
Her comment is I dont keep a dog and bark myself.
