Additional insurance with rental

Hi All

I've been looking into car rental and insurance with many companies.

I know I need to take out the additional insurance but each company offers something slightly different. Is there anything in particular I should be looking for?

Many thanks

Providing you book through a UK company, all the required insurances, taxes and fee's are included. There is an optional top up insurance which you can purchase locally (expensive) or before you go that'll cover things such as punctures and lost / locked in car keys.

Other than that, the included insurance should have:
Unlimited Mileage & Zero Excess
Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) sometimes referred to as LDW
Supplemental Liability Insurance / Extended Protection ($1 Million)
Uninsured Motorist Protection (UMP)
Theft Protection (TP)
Airport Fee's & Taxes
Breakdown Assistance
Free Amendments & Cancellation - ideally so if/when price drops, you can amend the booking to the cheaper price.

Hi. Unless you are doing a package holiday the cars if booked via DIY and from a UK website are inavariably insured.
However Virgin Holidays and some others such as Thomson etc you have to add on their Insurance packages which make a mockery of the free car.

If you look at a Company like Alamo Brits etc all the Insurances you need are already included. The big 2 are Collision Damage Waiver, sometimes called Loss Damage Waiver and Supplementary Liability Insurance also called Extended Protection.

Hope this helps.

Edit. And Andy types faster than me!
