Renting DVC points questions

Hi we are looking to travel nect august for my husband's 30th birthday and id really like to book 2 nights at a deluxe resort as a special surprise. Ideally BLT, WL, GF or poly as we will have a 2 yr old and 1 yr old with us so being close to MK would be a huge bonus.
What are my chances of being able to book these resorts by renting DVC points?

How do you work out how many points you need to rent?

Where are the best places to rent points from?

How far in advance can you book/rent points?

Once booked are you able to link your booking to MDE?

I'm totally clueless on the whole process and just getting more confused the more I read!

Have a look at dvcrequest.com. All info you need is on there. Look at the cost calculator for prices. 11 months out is when you can first book. You will be able to link as soon as it's booked.

Thankyou, Also am I able to put a request in the dibb forum earlier than 11 months so people can let me know if they will have points available?

Yes you could request on Dibb or contact David and see if they'll put you on.
If you want a studio in those properties l, whilst not impossible to get at 7 months in August, you'll want an owner who can book around 11 months out.
1 beds you could book 7 months no problem.
So id get onto David's and see what they suggest ahead of time. I don't know if they use a queuing system.

We’ve rented points for a 2 night stay at BLT for this August. We did it through David’s DVC - it was all confirmed within 24 hours of submitting a request - just under 11 months before. It was linked on MDE as soon as i’d logged into the link I was sent. As soon as it was linked we were able to customise magic bands. So far it’s all been straightforward and would definitely do it again. We’ve booked a standard studio.

We have rented points from David’s for a BLT standard view studio next year. I put my request in at 11 1/2 months and paid the deposit. Bang on 11 1/2 months I received an email confirming my stay and paid the balance that day. Apart from me worrying about whether or not the points would be available, it was all really easy.
