Miami Beach, but where?
Hi, next year going to be spending one night in Miami. It’ll be basically an afternoon, evening and then a few hours next day prior to heading to the airport.
Having never been I’m really not sure what area to stay in. Looking at Miami Beach but north, south, the middle area or Bay Harbor? As a group of 5 and youngest being 17 we will just be looking to stay somewhere we can get a feel for the place. I know my wife will want to see the Art Deco but nothing else specific. Is it easy to get around especially at night? Thanks |

We’ve stayed in the South Beach area twice. We used Uber and hired bikes to get around. Along the front near Ocean Drive are a lot of Art Deco buildings/hotels. We’ve stayed at The Pestana and The Savoy which are either end of South Beach

If You want to feel the real Miami Beach atmosphere, stay around South Beach. The north is fine just for the beach but is quiet at night. The middle is a dump and the bay islands are mostly residential.

We stayed a overnight in the Ithaca one street behind south beach . Was a great wee boutique hotel . And had free wine and cheese early evening which was a bonus.

We stayed at The Savoy on South Beach. It was the perfect location for us to visit the beach at Miami.
