Tokyo Disney: park hopper or not?
We are staying at the Tokyo Disneyland Hotel for 3 nights in early June this year.
We are going to get an after 6 passport for the Wednesday night, and then I'm trying to decide whether to get a park hopper for the next two days (we can buy this ticket type as onsite guests), or just buy the slightly cheaper normal 2 day ticket which doesn't allow you to park hop. Main rides closed when we are there are Space Mountain, Toy Story Mania and Journey to the Centre of the Earth (sob) - not sure if this will have a difference on crowds or crowd distribution. The crowd calendar tells me this is one of the most quiet times of year (second from bottom out of a scale of 8 levels of busyness). My current plan is: Wednesday: after 6pm at Disneysea, aim to do a ride or two, eat at Vulcania and catch Fantasmic Thursday: Tokyo Disneyland full day, still deciding whether to stop for lunch at Blue Bayou or just do two quick service meals, will make sure we catch Dreamlights and the castle show. Friday: Disneysea full day, lunch at Cannaletto or a quick service place, dinner at Magellan's (this is the last night of our 2 week holiday and Magellan's seems to be the most lauded table service). I just don't know whether we might find we need a little bit of extra time at Tokyo Disneyland because it seems to have more attractions (open ones at least), and we might appreciate the flexibility to park hop if we feel that we need to. But at the same time, Disneysea is the unique park, so allocating a full day + an evening to it seems to be the logical thing to do.

Excited about Disney
|
I got the hopper for the entire trip when we went in October. That being said, our time was cut due to the typhoon keeping us out of Japan so we arrived on Wednesday afternoon (note you cannot check in until 3pm, no exceptions) and we left Friday mid day. We spent more time at Disney Sea, but I did hop on Thursday and Friday. It's not the easiest thing to hop, unless you have a pass for the monorail. We stayed at Ambassador, so that was NOT included.
Enjoy!
