We are this year, well almost.
Spending the first week on Anna Maria Island then 9 nights in Windsor Hills. Thinking of doing one day at Universal and doing MNSSHP but other than that I have planned a State Park one day, lots of shopping, an airboat ride and just generally relaxing around the resort. We can't wait!

Yes we're having a no parks trip this summer... doing 3 nights at St Pete's and plan to go on the sea screamer at Clearwater. Then have 9 nights at Solterra which looks to have a great clubhouse, pool and lazy river. Planning on lazy days, shopping, airboat ride, eating out and generally having a slower pace time.

We’ve done quite a few non park trips and would happily so again. There are lots of things to do away from the parks and if we need a Disney fix, we head to Disney Springs. It gives time to fully relax, take things at your own pace and do the things you can’t fit in when doing the parks.

It's a great idea to have a Florida holiday with no or fewer parks. There is so much the Disney-area has to offer beyond Disney and Universal.

You won't struggle to fill the time ...
... but if you are looking for inspiration as to things to do ...
... reading the thread titles of the 'Beyond the Parks' section is a great way to get this.

We're a month back from our second one week trip with zero parks (not even a one day visit like everyone in here seems to be mentioning!)

There are plenty of fantastic things to do, we visited winter park did the scenic boat tour ($14 each) then altamonte springs for shopping.

We visited Winter garden also then went to the shops there nearby.

Airboat ride at boggy creek

The pace of the holiday was totally different and a good change.
