Picking car hire up at a hotel.

When we arrive next year we are staying at cabana bay for 5 nights before we move to a villa for 11 night’s and I now see that Avis are the onsite rental providers.

As we will probably be booking a ba flydrive I was thinking about just collecting the car at the hotel on checkout before we go to the villa. It would save us paying the parking charges and we probably wouldn’t be using the car in the first few days anyway.

Has anyone any experience of picking a car up from Avis away from the airport? Do you get a good selection of cars or are we better to pick it up at the Airport?

Any advice great fully received.

We stayed at RPR last August for a week without a car to save on parking charges and just booked one for the second week.
We booked a group B car through BA/Avis and collected it from the Doubletree Universal Entrance hotel as Avis wasn't on site last year. We got upgraded to a Ford Edge, group W car which we were extremely happy with. When we went out to the car park there we saw only 4 cars in the Avis spaces and all were SUV's.
