Mobile License requirements

Hi, we are travelling to Orlando in September and have booked car hire with Alamo.
My sister has been informed by a colleague that she needs 6 months left on her driving license.
We have never heard of this before but have hired cars a fair few times now.
A quick Google search didn't throw up information stating this rule.
Does anyone have any info regarding this?

Never heard of that rule. Ever. There’s a myth about 6 months on passports so maybe someone is getting mixed up?

Hi Katrina - you sister will be fine as long as her dl (and pp) is in date for her holiday/vehicle rental period

I do wonder who on earth makes up these blatant inaccuracies about a 6 month rule for dl's and pp's, and whether it's done with the intention to wind up/stress out those travelling.

As per the above posts. I am travelling next Saturday and my licence expires on the 1st Sept so I will renew it when we get home.
No requirement for it to be valid for any longer than the rental in question.

PPM. You are so naughty! With my Son doing the driving I may take my Welsh Assembly Govt bus pass. He drives too fast for my liking, I may get a Lynx bus instead. Will my pass work?

You pass won’t work if it’s in the Welsh Language. If it is you will have to get an IBP ( International Bus Pass) in English to show along with your original Pass . Remember it only lasts a year. Oh and don’t recline when on the Lynx Bus
