Any Irish used Alamo Brits?

Title says it all really. Can Irish use them, any difficulties with licence on arrival, anything like that?
They are showing Std SUV for my date for approx €1,075 instead of €1,300 from Alamo direct site. Would prefer to keep the €225 in my pocket if possible

Many Irish have used Alamo Brits without issue but they categorically told me that it was not for non British citizens when I queried it with Alamo last year.

I’ve booked with Alamo Brits. I live in N Ireland so a uk citizen and will be travelling using Irish passports. Go figure that one 😀 can’t see anyone in Alamo arguing with me over the technicalities of national identity 😀

That could be interesting .

TBH with the straight to garage approach they're not likely to question you when you pick up the car, the bigger concern would be coverage if something were to happen. Could they have a get out clause then?

We do. We have done in both California and Orlando - no issues. When you check in you put in your licence as Irish so there is no new information on arrival anyway - you clearly can state your licence is irish

As long as it doesn’t invalidate their insurance.

This is unknown ( even though armchair lawyers will have an opinion, I'm sure)

What is certain, is that they would try to use that as a get out cause.

(we're not talking about fender benders here, we're talking about severe injuries or even worse with million dollars claims)

I have the same kind of issues about booking Brits.
I'm French, french passport and license

But EU regulations and free trade indicate that it is unlawful to discriminate EU citizens based on their residency, to prevent them from purchasing goods or services online on another EU country (not the legel terms but just the rough idea)

so technically, I could book Brits, because so far UK is still part of EU, and I should not be prevented to book or purchase on any UK site.

but ... do I want to risk the legal battle ? the answer is no. Sometimes even if you're in your Rights ... path of least resistance, you know ...

The problem is that you won't know if it is an issue until you actually have an issue.
