Feel like Disney weren’t at all helpful when I was moving from CBR so doubt they’ll be any good this time. It’s so frustrating. The pool being good and food court being open was a big decider in moving to CSR.

Same reason as us. Disney were in fact useless, and called me a liar on several different occasions. If I didn’t have a friend on my booking I would of cancelled entirely just for the way the treated us and the fiasco

They acted as if I was making stuff up too! They made up this whole story about how wonderful the fencing is around the pool at CBR and how you don’t notice it etc. I got off the phone in tears I was that frustrated. Doubt they’ll offer anything even though the pool is stated to be open on the website.

OMG.
Guys... guys... Just had a phone call from George Kalogridis’ assistant. Totally confirmed the refurb and said she completely understood that the pool is a massive reason many people book that resort. Offered to move us to either of the Port Orleans resorts. Told me to speak to my partner about it and she’d call me back when I finished work. OMG! I actually can’t believe they were so helpful after all the CBR nonsense! Also - which resort should I go with? PS - it might have helped (she did mention it several times on the phone) that this trip is our honeymoon... also sshhhh about that, we’re eloping so don’t tell anyone, okay? I can trust you guys, can’t I? Edited at 03:49 PM. Reason: Spelling |

Wow, result. I’ve just fired of an email, I doubt I’ll be as lucky though. This holiday has been doomed since day one! 😫
I haven’t been to either I’m afraid, but people seem to favour riverside

Fingers crossed for you! Who did you email? I emailed literally everyone from the list in the CBR thread but as I said it was the one to George Kalogridis that provoked a response.
I’m sitting at work about to explode because I just want to go home and look at both resorts and make pro/con lists like the saddo I am! Actually a wee bit upset though. I genuinely thought the CSR looked like an awesome resort and we were excited to stay there... the construction was one thing but this was just too much! |

Not sure I agree that people favour riverside. It's a personal choice but I had never been to Disney and two years ago I asked the dibb members which port Orleans one to do. From the reaction and comments received I chose pofq. Having said that ... I do think they are both gorgeous and you'll be happy with either ... I chose pofq because it's smaller and por is bigger ( ie more bus stops ) / no room is that far away from everything or the bus stop. It's still big in U.K. Terms but small in comparison to other Disney properties. Been back again since and booked for next year. Por is a bit spread out for me but within easy access of we want a change in scenery . You will have a fab time at either - the boat to Disney springs wins it for me

POFQ rooms are currently have a soft refurb which is around half way through. After that they’ll start on POR rooms.
POFQ is far smaller, more intimate and you’re never more than a minute or two from all amenities. Just the one bus stop but occasionally it will go onto, or come back via POR which has many. We have only stayed at POFQ (3rd time this Aug) as we love the quaintness but we spend a lot of time at POR as you can use pools at both. POFQ has coke freestyle machines. POR does not.

Thanks for your advice! She was due to call us back at 7 so we got in from work and did some research and watched some vlogs and we were just feeling riverside more!
She called right on time and transferred us and upgraded us to a pool view. She also said she'd be arranging a surprise for us! Honestly can't believe how nice she was and how easy this was, I know I'm one of the lucky ones! |

I’m having no luck. Offered us an upgrade to AKL for a lovely £856. They said they hadn’t had any information on a refurb. The lady was lovely but hasn’t helped my situation at all. What emails are best to get into contact and try and get this sorted?
