HHN Vs Gore movies?
Decided tonight to watch some movies in preparation for HHN. First we watched Amityville (I know it's not there, but thought it would get us in the mood) then we watched TCM.
Not the original tho, as it's not on Sky, but we watched the 2006 prequel. Well, I saw watched, it got turned off just after half way. Dont get me wrong, I love scary movies, and we are both really looking forward to all the Halloween stuff in Florida, including HHN, but this has put the wind up me a bit. I know I should have expected gore in something called a chainsaw massacre, but I was hoping it would be more like The Walking Dead, which I love, and only rarely have to fast forward bits. DH and I have now had a chat about it and realised we both hate gore flicks, but love scary ones, and will this impact us enjoying HHN?

Don't watch the remake of TCM, watch the original. Very little gore and a lot of psychological scares.

No probs, I am not the biggest film gore fan, and I LOVE HHN. But I do like my Scare Mazes quite gory... I work at a scare attraction and I'm always asking for more fake blood lol

To be honest, I don't know why you dug out two of the scariest films ever (at least the original TCM is) to prep for an evening at Disney. Abbot and Costello meet Dracula might be more appropriate.

Is it? That surprises me. The Tobe Hooper film was pretty disturbing; it's also a highly political film, which is odd for a theme park. I thought the horror at Universal was all inspired by old RKO horror films from the 30s not from the golden age of horror: the 70s.
TBH I've never looked at Halloween celebrations in Orlando because we only go in December. We were thinking of changing, after this year, so October might be good. Thanks. Edited at 09:14 AM. |

Just checked and the have The Walking Dead and The Exorcist! Talk about a contrast. I couldn't watch The Walking Dead as it was so dull, The Exorcist is still scary, 35 years after I first saw it.
