Interestingly I googled chip muffin images and all it would cone up with was a chocolate chip muffin which I guess would be how you would see a muffin ( we confusingly would also call those muffins as well )

Google prompted me to type ‘ chip muffin Manchester ‘ to get the image I wanted 😀

Roll doesn’t get used up here

I’m with you on the tea cake thing - some other strange folk think they come without the dried fruit 😀

This is in South East England. I miss my homeland of South Wales, not so much for the prices (which incidentally I’ve found to be significantly cheaper) but for the rissoles and the option of gravy!
There’s not enough mention of gravy on this thread 😀

Not surprised; Tom Kerridge is charging ridiculous prices!

We’ve been to his place Hand and Flowers a few times and yes, it was nice but that was around 5 years ago.

The prices are now a joke; one of the starters we had back then was £17, now £33.
A sirloin steak back then was £45; now £87.
Desserts back then were £12; now £26.50.

Will never visit one of his places again as I feel he’s taking the mickey now.

My local chippy ( Greater Manchester Area) DH’s lunch today:

Fish, 1/3 of large potion of chips* & a carton of peas £5.20

* We share chips between 3 adults & still have enough left for DH’s chip muffin supper!

DD & I share a fish so total cost is £11.20.

Not too sure on the exact prices but usually comes to about £10 for a large fish and chips wihich would be enough for 2 people
