EDF have just put our DD down to £98 but we are coming to the end of our fixed contract. The fixed24 will cost us an extra £80ish.

It's so confusing isn't it. I'm with Bulb, been really happy with them! Lots on Twitter today about how the UK has the most expensive fuel prices in Europe, mainly because we're privatised and other countries keep state control and therefore don't have shareholders and can subsidise if needed, looks like we pay about 50% more than many in Europe.

Apparently leaving EU energy market hasn't helped either.

What was the gas rate per unit when you switched please. Just trying to see if I have missed the boat and they have put up even since yesterday ?

Thanks

( they want 3.8346 per kWh now)

Way over my existing deal - I am looking for my mum

I feel very sorry for those who are going to lose their supplier in the coming days/weeks and face higher bills.

However that is the downside of going with these smaller companies as opposed to the big ones. Their profit margins are so tight they cannot survive when prices shoot up sadly.

Very much like Car Insurance. Every year I search around but limit myself to the so called big names as opposed to TrampsRUs operating out of a telephone kiosk!

Yes 3.835 per kWh for gas with a 26.12p daily standing charge.

Ovo who we are currently with wanted 6.88 per kWh for gas with the same daily charge.

Just seen this thread. I'm with bulb, do I need to switch. Been thinking about doing a price comparison for a while. I'm quite a bit in credit too.. Do I need to worry?

i've just logged into my account as wanted to get my annual consumption figures and cannot find them anywhere? any ideas?

Tad worried about the amount I have in credit

Thank you

Just moved my mum to Eon on an identical tariff to the Sainsbury’s deal . Don’t like rushing these things but with the comparison sites not having much on there , and even the big companies seemingly not offering all their tariffs - I couldn’t actually find the tariff price my mums would move to but their fixed prices were in the 5p plus range so 3.83 seemed decent and at least there is a 14 day cooling off period and no exit fees

Mine is currently about 2.6p on a fix to next April - just hope they aren’t on one of the ones going bust !

You do not need to worry about your credit

It’s guaranteed to be protected by OFGEM’s safety net (gas and electricity regulator).

I “feel” Octopus will survive - they are working with the government to reduce the price of heat pumps by 50% by 2024 by flooding the market with them so have some serious backing .

I am with Octopus (I went direct for a quote on telephone and they beat anything online comparison or even direct online) and their CS is really very good, I am with Mr Tom, stick with one of the bigger boys in the market at the moment. Cheap is cheap for a reason ……
