But that’s your perceived value not the actual costs involved (which was what my post was in response to). So a totally pointless comparison and statement.
My £1000 Prada bag is so much better than your £10 Primark bag because I know I get so much more enjoyment out of it than you do, so mine is much better value. Stupid, right? The cost is what it is. Whether you see value in it and pay it is up to you. It’s just ridiculously tiresome seeing someone who isn’t a fan of Disney, who hasn’t been for 5 Orlando trips, constantly giving the same very strong and negative opinion on every thread. We’ve all heard you a thousand times. You’ll never go back to Disney, so why do you feel the need to say it everyday on a Disney forum. I actually have a Universal AP and will get a sea world AP in November. I plan on doing a day in Disney in November and March. My favourite park is Universal Studios by some distance. I’m not here to push that opinion on anyone, I was merely responding to someone that said Disney costs 3x the price of Universal in response to my comment that Universals Express pass was more expensive than Genie+. But you admit you don’t go to WDW anymore so it’s not about Genie +, or the cost of it, or even the cost to get into Disney. It’s about you having no interest in Disney so you’ll never be on board with paying for any kind of fast pass there. For me Disney has far more content than Universal. For me, and I have no opinion about the content it has for anyone else so I cannot possibly comment on the value Disney tickets or Genie + has for anyone else.
There are constant posts on this forum about how one park is better value for money than the other. Or how people are “done with Disney” because they’re getting greedier and switching to Universal. I just don’t get it - you either like what Disney has to offer or you don’t, same for Universal. If you like the product Disney is offering and want to continue using it then you pretty much have to get on board with any changes. If you don’t care about it that much to suck up the additional cost (and let’s face it, we’re about to get into a period where everything is going to cost significantly more in life) then move on and go somewhere else. |

Mmmm well we'll pay the extra. Rather not but hey can't find anything these days that isn't shooting up in price.
Still worth it for the enjoyment we get. |

juat dont pay. there is no way we would pay IAS. We will plan to go in lower queue times and use genie+ only if we have no choice. If we do use genie+ then this will come out of the restaurant budget so disney will get the sane amount from us, possibly less if we eat offsite.

I dont know, I hate the idea.
Boycott may be to strong, I have weighed up the benefits of my booked 2 weeks onsite. Its not worth it, i will downgrade to all star and probably cut it to a week, then head over to universal and DC. My DS is disabled and will be 13 by the time we go back. Its sad to say i think traveling for him will be to difficult as he gets bigger so this may be our last trip. We have been every 2 to 3 years since he was born so one last time has to be done. If im forced to pay to skip lines i will cut out eating onsite and merch if i need to. Edited at 09:57 PM. |

I think rather than 'wanting' the money, it was more a case of 'needing' the money to continue his endeavours. ...And he had to get the adults to buy the tickets or it would have had to be free! That would be true whether he was primarily financially-motivated, or not.
Personally (and this isn't about Genie+ per se), I don't think he'd have been content with so much being taken away in recent years undermining his eye for detail and quality. I think, maybe, he would have supported greater ticket prices, but along with greater offerings. ...But, as I said, perspectives vary. Walt had his, we each have ours and, at the end of the day, whatever any of us guesses about Walt, he's not running the show anymore. Like The Tiki Room, Disney's under new management.

So many places to be explored and adventures to be had. I understand the feeling that it's time for things fresh and new.

I think the standby lines will move much quicker. People will pay to jump the line if they can afford it. No different to those using fast passes, apart from there will be less using the lightning lanes.
I expect a bit of jealousy in those lanes from the less fortunate as they watch in horror as people stride past. Job done if you have the money. Not sure if I’d be embarrassed using the lanes, probably worried of people sneering at the family as we rush thru. |

However value has been eroded throughout the pandemic and that hadn’t stopped people so why would this ?
Why the need for a public boycott anyway ? If it isn’t worth it to you personally then just don’t go. Plenty of people have already made this decision based on other erosion of value factors like parking, that didn’t make a difference so why would this …..of course if I’m wrong then people won’t book anyway. Most people however will moan but still book. |

I’ll be neither embarrassed nor worried about people sneering. Not sure why anyone would?
