I always try to be super nice to people working in fast food places, coffee shops etc. If something is wrong I will say so, but nicely, and always thank them for sorting it out.

I can’t believe how rude some people can be. It truly is like they don’t think the person in front of them is a fellow himan being worthy of their respect.

Also DH used to work for McDonald’s back in the 90s, and the management culture was awful - shouting, bullying, generally treating their employees like dirt. I hope it has changed.

My Nephew works in a well known retail store, last week someone urinated on the floor and left it without saying anything for the staff to clear up ,they don't allow dogs, only assistance ones so can't blame a dog.

Standards of behaviour have stooped to the lowest of the low in the UK , I have no idea what goes through peoples minds anymore .
Covid may have affected a lot of people mentally , but the levels of disrespect to each other are ridiculous.

Should try and find the culprit on the security cameras and get them for exposure if nothing else

I used to work in a DIY store and there was a 💩 left just outside the men’s toilet. I’m guessing someone had an accident and didn’t make it in time, but it was another customer that reported it! 🤢

some people really need to take a step back and take a good hard look at themselves.

if you are not happy with the way a company is operating post covid then don't go there.

there are still lots of restrictions in place in the kitchen area and things are not back to normal, working practice's have changed for safety so things may be a bit slower

don't give the front line staff a hard time because you had to wait a minute or two longer for your burger it is not their fault. remember Patience is a virtue and if you are not happy with the slightly extended wait then vote with your feet and go elsewhere

Yes you would like to think so, but that is also time consuming and many places just do not have the staff to comb through the cameras or security to deal with it.
It just gets cleaned up and put down to an everyday occurrence.
Many of my family have worked in retail over the years like many on here including myself many years ago, some of the antics of the general public beggars belief.
30+ years ago I politely told a man his large family could not 'bag' tables in a retail cafe as we were so busy, he threatened to take me outside and break my legs ( I was 16)

I’m so saddened that there seems to be so many rude, selfish, nasty people in the world. I’m glad to be the age I am but pity my sons who are only in their 20s. One is a nurse so no doubt gets abuse thrown at him, doesn’t tell me things he knows upsets me. The other has learning difficulties so will always be the brunt of some people’s nastiness. I was nearly scammed out of a load of money the other day, only realised just in time. Think I’m going to lock myself away for the next few years on a remote island

To be honest I don't think it's changed since I grew up in the 70s and probably even before. I was subjected to the most horrific bullying and verbal abuse every day, but back then the response was basically 'Don't let it bother you' and you were expected to put up and shut up.

There have always been people like this. It's just that these days, it's more acceptable to call them out on their bad behaviour.
