Here in Coventry we have
Green lid ….. general waste ( once a fortnight) Blue lid …. Recycling ( once a fortnight) Brown lid …. Garden ( once a fortnight) We store our bins to the side of the house in between two gated areas |

Can’t remember exactly but do recollect them saying some will be worse off with more bins and bags than at present. Do remember thinking Chelmsford would be better off as we would have less.
Still like ds’s option of 3 bins which covers everything. The theory behind the new system is it will encourage people to recycle more rubbish but tbh we sometimes can’t be bothered with all the different bins and bags and put things in the black bin instead. |

We are Ashfield District in Nottinghamshire.
Red lidded - 75% size - general waste - every 2 weeks Green lidded - 100% size - recycling - every 2 weeks opposite to general Blue lidded - 50% size - glass recycling - every 8 weeks alongside general Black lidded - 100% size - garden waste - extra £20 per year (we don’t pay,) collected every 2 weeks alongside general Our red, green and blue bins are kept out front and the black bin is in the back garden - we will have to get it emptied at some point. Edit - not one collection has been missed because of Covid.

I'm in Rotherham South Yorkshire and we have 4 bins , black bin with a pink lid is general waste emptied every two weeks , black bin is for plastic and glass emptied once every four weeks , green bin cardboard and paper emptied once every four weeks and a brown bin for garden waste emptied fortnightly during spring and summer then once every four weeks autumn and winter we pay a yearly premium for the garden waste bin think it's around £40
Our bins are kept behind a big gate to side of the house |

In Doncaster we have
Green wheelie garden waste Black wheelie general waste Blue wheelie cans, paper, cardboard recycling Green box glass recycling all collected 2 weekly (2 bins one week, bun and box next week) We are lucky enough to store ours at the side of the house by the utility door and still have room to walk past x
