Mobile Invisalign - anyone straightened their teeth?

Hi looking to get my front 8 teeth straighter and got a quote for a brace or Invisalign and wondered if anyone has gone through this process? Also looking at smile direct as they are quite a bit cheaper

Hey, I opted for a clear fixed brace. It has worked wonders already. No problems whatsoever

Hi that’s good to hear - did you do it via Invisalign and they are £2k more than smile direct club?

Dan had his done by Invisalign. I looked at smiledirect and as you say prices are very different but I preferred the dentist led approach that I was getting with Invisalign. The initial conversation I had with SmileDirect was very wishy washy lots of maybe’s, whereas the dentist was knowledgeable about the process, costs, expected results, timeline.

Oddly enough I'm going for the fitting of my Invisalign on Thursday so I'll let you know. I too looked at smile direct, even going as far as getting the kit to get my impressions done and sending them back. What out me off was when I looked for reviews. They were excellent for the early stages, how nice the staff were and how quickly the braces came but I could find nothing about how good they were as a finished product. I found some mentions about teeth being loose. In the end I didn't want to mess about with my teeth. I can't trust a product where it moves your teeth but you don't set foot in a dentist!

Both my husband and one of my boys have had Invisalign. My husband a year ago and my son has just completed his treatment this week.

Both are extremely pleased with the results. It costs more at the dentist but we were happier having dentist led treatment. It’s was also good for advice, questions, any issues etc. My son also had to have an extra 10 weeks treatment which was included in the price as the dentist wasn’t 100% happy with the initial result (which you or I would probably have not noticed).

Also, the dentist can do any additional work in with the treatment like bonding etc and it included whitening too. Once they had one lot of whitening from the dentist they then purchased more online for a very good price for future whitening.

Me! Very pleased but I also went through a dentist as they can tweak the “plan” if things don’t move how they should etc, or giving more trays which is very common.

My almost 12 year old and nearly 9 year old have had Invisalign for 7 weeks now.
I’m already noticing a massive difference. They both need their bottom jaws moved forward and teeth straightened. They have also got on really well with the braces and it’s great having the support from the orthodontist. Before photos are on the left and 7 week progress on the right.

I did fixed braces as a kid but my orthodontist wasn't great and ended up being struck off!

As a result I went into ceramic braces as an adult and wore them for 3 years. They were brilliant and couldn't completely correct my deep overbite but did a really great job of straightening my teeth.

10 years after that my teeth have moved slightly and I've used smiledirect to move them back. Happy with the price I paid and as I'm *very* used to orthodontic work so I knew how to wear the orthodontics (even when they were tight and I struggled to make them fit on the first day) and that basically I could do the impressions and everything myself.

Thanks everyone- away to send off the smile kit and will see what they say. Getting a few more quotes and will make my mind up in the next few weeks. I don’t need massive work, but my smile will benefit from a few tweaks so I am going for it - just need to decide what method!
