Mobile Scared of HHN - reassure me!

I love scary rides and I am sure the atmosphere will be great, but the idea of the houses is really scaring me! I know on an intellectual level that the actors can't hurt me but that does not get communicated to my lizard brain. Are they really bad? It's the anticipation of getting jumped out on that scares me!

You'll find that you are laughing as much as you are scared! Once you have been through a house and realise thats all they are going to do then its just fun! Remember that they will target you if you look really scared though!

It depends a bit on whether you enjoy the feeling of being made to jump! Sort of imagine if you really enjoy "scary" movies you would be fine but if you don't you would need to be a bit careful.

FWIW the mazes were fine, you just walk through, and the scare zones obviously you're expecting them to pounce on you. My sister found the random people with chainsaws creeping up on her outside of the scare zones unsettling - they don't stick 100% to the designated zones so it's worth bearing that in mind!

Erm.. I can't. The houses scare me poo-less, and I'm someone who isn't scared by any films.. films are stuck in the telly, the scareactors are not lol. I am a very jumpy person though (but not a screamer) I will jump when the toaster pops
Some of the actors have noticed this in the past and stalked me through the house to get more jumps from me

All that being said, this is my third time and at my own suggestion...Why?... Because it's Halloween horror nights, its supposed to be "abit" scary!

And if it does get a bit much, grab yourself a glass of liquid courage

They are scary, but as others have said you're usually laughing and screaming at the same time if that makes sense.

The first time I went it did freak us out a bit (probably more the expectation) but given we've been back so many times it shows how much we ALL love it (I hate scary movies btw)

When we go now I make EVERYONE take their turn at going first in our group (including my son who's the worst) which is really funny as they always try to catchup the group in front while I'm trying to drag them back so we 'stand out' more. I guess I'm a really bad dad!

If you enjoy being made jump then go for it. Personally I couldn't hack it even after a couple of large drinks in the waiting area. I'm fine with horror but put me in a dark, enclosed space with things jumping out at me and helllllll no! We went on the year with no safe zones either so nowhere to hide. Tbh I probably made it worse for myself and hot targeted a lot, even the American guys behind us thought it was hilarious tapping me to make me jump the entire way through Silent Hill. I'd love to try it again but I know I wouldn't cope lol

If you scare easily then you will jump, run and scream most likely.

If you stay with a group and go in the middle, either your own group or stick close to a group in front, you will see the actors jump out on people in front of you. You'll be able to anticipate what's ahead and it won't scare you half as much.

Be warned, when you exit a house, they sometimes have an actor jump you outside the exit. Again hang back and let others go first.

If you get super scared, close your eyes and hang on to someone else, at least to get through a bit that frightens you a lot.

Good luck.

We're going for the first time this year and I'm bricking it! I jump at the most ridiculous things and just cant do scary films...Its actually a running joke to friends of mine. Christ knows what I'm doing. But we'll be there for Halloween and have been given a pass for the eve, from the grandparents to look after the kids. Its something I'll not likely get the chance to do again so I'm just going for it! Just keep telling myself, they can't hurt me! Think a bit of dutch courage may help...maybe!
