We have 8 days in universal next year.
It’s our first time but we plan to add in Busch gardens & aquatic to that week to break it up a bit. |

Excited about Disney

We did a week at universal split Cabana Bay and Portofino , it was our 1st on-site experience for longer than 1night .
Loved our week at universal , same as others early starts in the parks , mainly water park and for the Harris’s coaster race ! . Apart from the 1 ride was nice and chilled week, few rides and back to the hotel an pool time /relax, then back to the parks in the evening and again sometime leaving late evening and back to the pool , Portofino pool was great late evening both the main pool watching movies or the quiet one next to our room we had to ourselves . Cabana bay pools busier but still fantastic time . You’ll love it |

We booked a week at RPR club level in October 2019 and we had the best time!
We could come and go to the parks as we pleased and had express passes which were an added bonus. Took the Universal busses to Volcano Bay which was super quick and easy. We had a few pool days and also pool hopped to HRH and Portifino. It was lovely being able to walk to and from City walk of an evening and we also used ‘kids nite out’ so DH and I could do a night at HHN. Loved it and honestly wished we hadn’t moved over to Disney after our stay for 11 nights because it was a big anticlimax for us as a family.

I’d be happy with that.
We did a week in Feb 2020, purely universal with a day shopping and a night at the basketball. We did a week club level at RPR in summer 2018 - loved it. We did a night at the football I think. We did 6 nights at universal in April 2019. A shopping day included. I’ve got trip reports for all of these in my signature. I like the longer universal trips, you can do things at your own pace and take time to chill. You can pool hop if not at endless summer. You’ve got the cinema, golf which is great fun and bowling at Cabana Bay. We’ve got a week booked at universal in October (prob won’t happen), a week in February and 2 weeks next summer (although planning seaworld, discovery cove and a couple of days at Busch Gardens.) My Ds is 14 and loves universal. We have annual passes and if onsite for a week you might want to upgrade one of your tickets for the discount on food and merchandise.

Excited about Disney

We have split trips between Disney and universal - but it kept increasing as we love the universal hotels! One year we spent 2 weeks in hard rock as we weren’t doing Disney and we used it as a base. We dropped in and out of the parks, went to Busch, shopping etc and had a great, relaxing time. Next year thinking of dropping yacht club and Disney and doing 2 weeks at portifino bay instead!

We’ve done probably 8 two week holidays at Royal Pacific, exactly the same, used it as a base but did nip in and out of the Universal parks a lot. We like a few hours early in the morning, nap/ sunbathe in the afternoon, out for food and couple of drinks on an evening. Much more relaxing, but we haven’t gone with kids, that would likely make a difference.
