Fp’s - genie - queues- please explain
Am I right in thinking FP’s are a thing of the past? 🥺
Can someone please explain in simple terms what we now need to do 🙏🏻 We would normally get to a park for opening, do a few rides that have no queues then do our 3 FP’s. This way we never feel rushed and just enjoy the park and atmosphere. Long queues are out if the question. Are there still queues or are they virtual queues ? Thanks |

They're all still normal queues. With Mason, I would get a DAS pass.
There's loads of threads on how Genie+ works. Just a couple of recent ones... https://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/sho... php?t=1212534 https://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/sho... php?t=1211489 |

Brilliant thank you. I have completely avoided reading about it in case our holiday got cancelled yet again but the consultant gave his go ahead on Friday and it seems the US will stay open 🤞🏻 So I am daring to plan 🤩
I haven’t read them yet but I hope its not a case of pay or queue 😵≈💫 Its a tricky thing with DAS, we never had it for our daughter because we took full advantage of early mornings and the 3 FP’s. She generally hypos more mid afternoon in the heat but Mason is completely different. I feel terribly guilty even thinking of a DAS as there are so many in more need. We do have a blue badge though, thats been amazing for getting him and out the car, I didn’t think he qualified but as a wheelchair user he got one really quickly. To be fair he won’t be able to go on ride that throws you about or rams your tummy on the bar anyway. Luckily he loves gentle rides like me 😊 not like my older two 😂 |

Are you staying on-site or off-site? On-site has 30 minutes early access every morning. If you’re on-site you want to utilise that, if you’re off-site it impacts things a bit as there will be a queue by the time you enter the park (particularly at the most popular ones / headliners).

I don't know much about your situation, but from what I have seen online in various places, people in America have no such guilt and in fact abuse of the system is rife as some people people who dont need it use as as a free front of line pass.
People take advantage as due to Americas privacy laws, Disney cant ask for proof of disability as they can here. Ive seen stories where people will use it as part of their side hustle as an unofficial tour guide, getting the return times, so that their customers don't have to wait in line. If you need it, use it and don't give one thought to others. |

I only use mine when I feel I need to, but zero guilt over it. The thing with DAS is that you're not really cutting in front of anyone. You're still waiting the same standby time as everyone else, just not physically in the queue. So you can do other things or hide in a quiet corner, whatever you need.
You might still want G+ for the rides he can't go on as the DAS holder must ride the attraction in order to use a return time, but I would 100% get it for him. Edited at 03:37 PM. |

It's never about the specific illness, it's more what reasons you have for why you can't queue. Not speaking specifically about Crohns but it's entirely possible that two people with the same illness may have different presentations, so one would qualify and one wouldn't. But the CM will go through your reasons with you and decide based on your specific circumstances.
You can either register online via a video call up to 30 days in advance, or go to guest relations in the park after you arrive. |
