Dropping off a car and collecting another at MCO?

Our plans have changed quite dramatically and annoyingly I have to drop a car back to MCO that I have with Avis and then collect another from Alamo. Has anyone done this before and it’s quite easy to navigate from drop-off to collecting with a different company?

I wish it was a case of having the same car for the whole trip but the cost won’t allow it so I have to do it this way.

When we did it all we did was exit the return garage and walk along to the pick up garage
We’d done on line checkin with Alamo so no need to go back into the terminal
Took all of 5 mins

If you have done skip the counter its just a case of walking across the garage.
