DTI one for fighting talk listeners. Christmas lights

Christmas lights should be banned on homes to help the environment, so every year we get some idiots putting on 20000 lights on their homes for charity but what about the environment using up all that electricity, and then there is those poor people who still haven’t had their power back on from the storm having to look at peoples very tacky lights when they can not heat their own homes. This can also put a strain on the national grid and those real heroes who have electric cars might not be able to go to work. Yes ban them

I disagree. With all the misery and doom and gloom, let people have a bit of enjoyment and fun. A lot of people are housebound and I'm sure it brightens their day. I like seeing them on my buses to and from work.

Oh dear, Grinch and Scrooge spring to mind. Why not ban everything that brings a bit of joy and ‘light’ to peoples lives.

Perhaps offices should turn their lights off year round 🤔

This is surely a joke !
We’ve had the council put Christmas lights on the lampposts in our village for the first time ever - I was unexpectedly and disproportionately pleased .
We’ve got Boris Johnson as prime minister at the moment not Oliver Cromwell- c’mon

Radio 5 live every Saturday between 11am and 12 give it a listen very funny sports quiz show. The winner has to defend the indefensible a outrageous statement for 20 seconds.

Nope, better to ban mobile phones, tablets, ipads, fire sticks, fancy tvs most technology that is used on a daily basis. Infact, get rid of the electric cars, electric fires etc.

Let's get back to basis before people depended on technology... coal fires, wood burners etc. Cooking with gas bottles etc.
None of these fancy shop tills or self scanners, back to doors that your use these things called hands to open and close.

Back to basics. Things before technology were better, we recycled our glass bottles, milk/lemonade was delivered to your door, paper bags, reusable bags aren't a new idea because of global warming, plastic etc... they were around generations ago.

Again, all the fancy technology these days need to go, that's the problem these days not LED eco saving lights 🙄
