Viator Los Angeles Sight Seeing Tour
Hi everyone
We are hoping and praying our trip to California and Florida goes ahead in 10 weeks time and whilst in Los Angeles we have a day sight seeing tour around the main sites in LA, Farmers Market, Pier etc. I am worried about sharing the bus with local residents/tourists who may not be vaccinated or have not even tested. What would you guys do? I am thinking if cancelling the tour and doing Universal Hollywood, but thinks it’s a shame. Do you think it’s risky sitting on a bus for the day doing a tour compared to being outdoors at theme park.

At this stage, they are all the same risk. There wont be many locals on the bus tours, thats not something Californians do. Its really only internationals who would do the bus tours, as most Americans hire a car. Being outside, double masked, using hand sanitizer and having your vaccines at this stage is about the only risk mitigations that matter. There is really no difference in risk between taking an open top tour bus and going to a theme park.
So I would leave the Covid risk factor out of the decision and just using the normal deciding factors, time, budget, interest level. |

Thanks for that but it’s a small mini van sharing with two other families not an open top bus. Wished it was an open top bus!

Is a private tour an option, price wise?
I know you are concerned about your sons due to their health conditions. It’s a tricky one - I sort of think, commit to the holiday and stay safe as much as you can, but it would start to make me question the holiday itself if too many compromises need to be made / to reduce worry? (I hope you don’t mind me saying this, just I remember one of your other threads). For what it’s worth, I hope things are going to change for the better and you won’t need to worry by March Louise

ah ok, well that changes it for me. I would either be looking for a private tour, not shared mini van, or if thats not possible I would cancel.
I have been travelling to California since 2009 and had no issues with shared minivans / shuttles but now with Covid thats a no go for me. |

No I don’t mind at all.
The boys just worry me and with everything going on I want us to have an amazing time and not put us in a position where we are in a confined space for the whole day.
