Rental payment help?

Hi,

I have a reservation that we can't use now, and I have an American family interested in renting it off me? It's for 6 nights so quite a few points.

I've rented odd nights before and had payment by PayPal, but had to pay a fee to receive the money? Is there another way, that is more cost effective to receive funds from the US, apart from PayPal?

I don�t know of another way but if you use PayPal �friends and family� I don�t believe it adds a fee. Otherwise ask for the renters to pay the fees.

Do you know if there would be an issue of using 'family and friends'? The renters are quite wary! so I'm wondering if they will panic if I suggest that, that I'm trying to scam them! 🙈

I guess it depends on what the renters think PayPal will do for them. As far as I know PayPal doesn�t offer any protection for timeshare rentals but I could be wrong.

From our experience DVC rentals work on trust, so if they are wary then it depends what they are worried about and what assurance you can give them that you are genuine.

Yes I agree with you, trust is very important! I have agreed to change the names on the reservation before payment so not sure what else I can do? I think it's because I'm in the UK? 🤷

This is probably all you can do. Hopefully if they see the booking in their name they will feel reassured. Other option is to ask them to pay extra to cover the fee?

They have to pay a fee to send by friends and family too. If they pay goods and services you pay a fee. It�s a win win for PP!

Ok I'm not sure why a renter would pay paypal fees for you?

The only fees would be the exchange rate as they will pay in $, of course you could win on the exchange rate as well

I asked my renter to pay and they did. I just specifies as they had a good deal that I would want it paid by F&F or they would pay extra fees on G&S. they did. Currently PayPal is �0.71 to the $1
