Bed bugs
Horrible subject but I thought I'd take a look at the 'Bedbug registry'
I was surprised at how poorly some of the hotels seem to handle reports of bed bugs in the rooms . I checked all of the hotels we'll be staying in and none have any reports on the registry, but that's not to say there haven't been issues. Needles to say we will be double checking in and around our beds first thing. Making me itch just thinking about it

Why would you do that in the first place..?
It would never ever cross my mind to even contemplate such a thing...

I ALWAYS check for bed bug droppings on mattresses in every single hotel I stay at. Google images will show you what to look for. Someone I know brought home bed bug larvae on her cases and they infested her house. Brand new beds, bedlinen, curtains had to be bought plus an exterminator cost her £300 I think. So the whole sorry episode was almost £2,000 for her.

To be fair, you brought it up so if you’re itchy you’ve no one to blame but yourself .

Op you’ve made me itchy now!
Checked our hotels for this year and there are reports but they’re all over 5 years old. I’ve never checked the beds, but think I’ll now have to incase I’ve just jinxed myself 😂 |

Bedbugs? Never worried about them. More concerned when you come into the room and switch on the light and the cockroaches scamper for cover.
Oh, and yes we had a snake in a villa, under the settee.😜 More to shudder and scratch about. But seriously I’ve never checked before, but will now! A good idea I’d say. |

A friend has had bed bugs in her villa so we are now in the process of covering all our mattresses with enclosed zip up protectors. Have put off the king as it's hell of a work out.
The latest way of killing them is to heat up the house, I forget to what temperature, it's quicker and cleaner than the old chemical method. Bed bugs are spread via suitcases so it could be you bringing them into the hotels/houses, this is why I never put my hold luggage on the bed. Edited at 12:03 AM. |
