Good job you raised this issue. It’s been a while since the world had a sensationalised and often poorly-understood health risk to be worried about. Oh no, wait…

I raised the subject, as a friend of ours who travels for work internationally (in normal circumstances) said he always puts his suitcase in the bathroom (because its tiled) of his room when he arrives.
He then checks the bed and makes sure that it is bed bug free before he puts his case on soft surfaces, like the bed or on the carpeted floor. Its not a nice subject, but could be painful, from the bites and as Stichesmumanddad pointed out, very costly on the return home. And yes I'm still feeling itchy

We found a little green frog in our bedroom once - maybe it was there looking for a bedbug snack.

This may sound ott, but we have 3 tins of spray for when we go. The first thing we do when we go into the room is spray all the beds and then go shopping for a hour to let it work.

I read that tumble drier softener sheets wiped over the bed will get rid of them. I haven’t had the opportunity to try that though. 😃

We have them once when staying in a hotel such a horrible experience so itchy felt so sorry for my 18 month old who was bitten all over thought it was chicken pox at first then my other two had spots appear. Had to get all stuff dry cleaned oh high heat so we didn’t take it home with us.

Sue before I even get in our bed I check it and that’s no mean feat if I’m on my own as I’m 5ft on a good day in heels and ours is a king
I leave all our hold luggage in foyer and spray it with the spray from lowes befor I even open it Guests coming from Disney if doing a split stay just before covid according to our MC were the worst for bring them into villas I’ve done all our beds stripped sprayed clean mattresses protectors on and they were done when I arrived in November frames cleaned etc They don’t bother me but I was a district nurse for years so bugs etc are way more common than you think folks even in the Uk |
