That is what “child swap” is for... I think it’s false advertising though, as I have only ever got my child back. #con

Yes indeed but you can't count that as I'd already answered in #210

I have not read the whole thread and completely agree with paying a living wage tip. Up until recently we always paid 15% because that is what my US cousins pay. However we upped it to 18% on our last trip.

However, if for example the average meal in Chilli's is 50 dollars and a waitress serves 5 tables at a time and we don't stay more than an hour, then she is earning 50 dollars an hour if everyone pays 20% which is way more than a living wage.

This puzzles me, are we actually overpaying compared to other salaries for non-skilled work?

It appears some of the disney servers are earning more than doctors and are making over $100,000 a year. Crazy money especially in over priced restaurants like Crystal palace where you have to get your own food.

I read recently that somewhere like 50's Prime Time serves approx 2,000 meals per day. So, allowing for breaks and shift, say that was 20 servers in total (that's only 4 tables of 3 people per hr each), and a low average of $30 per head it works out as between $540 and $660 in tips per server per day (18% to 22% range). Even half the lower estimate to $270 per day. That by an average say 230 working days per year is a whopping $62,100. So $100,000 seems very achievable and possibly at the low end even.

Tipping threads will never die (unless the administrators ban them).

I will still only only tip 10% at buffet restaurants😀
