Why not a black cat.

Yes I have heard this before. People tend to prefer lighter coats or multicoloured. I have a black dog and he doesn’t photograph easily, but he is gorgeous.

Black cats rule and we've adopted them before. They are impossible to photograph though. This is one of ours captured mid stretch 10% ferret

Sad to think people are so shallow that how pets look on social media is high up on the list of importance. My childhood dog was jet black and I’ve always had black and white moggies. To be fair many of our pets chose us rather than us choosing them but personality and temperament always counts the most with any pet.

We used to have a neighbours black cat ( Casper ) come and sleep in our garden and was the friendliest cat you could meet and I would have gladly had him as a pet

I grew up with a black cat. She was the best cat! My 2 are tabby but I wanted 2 black cats before I got my current 2, however my friends cat only gave birth to tabby’s even though Mum was a black cat.

Now I'm not a cat person - but the only cats I've ever liked (stable yard cats, farm cat, next door neighbours cat) have been black cats - they just seem more laid back - is this because they can hide from other cats easier? So less defensive? I don't know. I had two Black Labradors so maybe I'm biased but I do find coloured cats to be less friendly.

Ours is grey and white (rescue cat) but I love black cats. The way their eyes stand out against that glossy fur is so beautiful.

My mum has two , Ozzy and Birdie .
They’re lovely and I always call them witches familiars but mum doesn’t find that one so funny ... 😆

We also have a rescue black cat called Jet, he is so good tempered and a real joy. I find it very sad that black cats are harder to place. My DD does take lots of selfies with him and he photographs well.
