We are back from our Oasis of the Seas sailing. I have to say the ship is amazing. We never felt overcrowded (except at times you would expect on any cruise ship - going into dinner, out from the shows, formal night in the Promenade).
I was disappointed with a couple aspects of the cruise. It may be that I'm just picky. I found the food to be a bit more bland than my liking. I do realize that is a personal choice and some found it very good. I wouldn't say it was bad food, just didn't have enough taste for me. The larger issue was with customer service. Staff was friendly when approached, but would never look at you or acknowledge you when walking towards you. They also seemed to have the belief that you should take care of most things on your own. Each time I called Guest Services, I was told to come down there or go somewhere to take care of an issue, instead of them just taking care of it. If they didn't know the answer, they weren't willing to find it out. Again, for some people, this wouldn't be a bother at all. The biggest reason this was an issue was simply the size of the ship. When the Windjammer Cafe was closed and the arcade soda machine had no ice or diet (a regular occurrence), we had to walk 1/2 mile roundtrip from our cabin to the Promenade for a refill. Other than these issues, there was never a lack of things to do onboard. Our group played minigolf, table tennis, shuffleboard, went on the FlowRider, Zipline and ice skated. We tried out nearly every restaurant onboard either for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Went to almost all of the theater shows (missed one). We were also the Flip Video Scavenger Hunt champs |

Would love to try the Oasis or Allure, however there's the even bigger new ship coming Nov next year Quantum of the Seas! We got back today from our first Royal Caribbean cruise, was brill! Much better than NCL, better food, entertainment and staff :-)
