Express Passes last 2 weeks August

Hi

We are a family of four (2ad and 2 older teens) and we are wondering if people would recommend booking a night in one of the Universal Hotels to get express passes during the last 2 weeks in August.

We have only ever gone late July early August before and the parks were very busy. I'm told by a work colleague that the American Schools go back mid August and that the parks are noticeably quieter in the last week of August

Thanks

Definately, it's an enormous benefit, you get both check in and check out days of FOLP, you can check in early to catch park opening, leave your luggage with bell services as it's unlikely your room would be ready, get your passes and head off to the park .

Its obviously beneficial but I would say not essential for the last 2 weeks in August.

We went last 2 weeks of August last year and although we had Express Passes I remember the Gringotts ride was only 30 mins at around midday

We went home 2 September this year... the folp make our holiday.
I would not do universal without a stay to get the passes.

We went for a couple of days late in August and would never go again at that time without express passes or fol. the queues were horrible and totally spoilt our time there.

We went 19th and 20th August this year, it was still pretty busy, especially Despicable Me so was very glad of FOLP, Kong is on the list now, unfortunately it wasn't when we went and lowest wait time was an hour. You can't get FOLP for Harry Potter rides and that varied between 30-45 mins wait.
