Sounds great as our cruise is fast approaching I'm really looking foward to it now. just wish I'd booked it as part of Orlando trip instead of the Med but (next year :p )

thanks for the tips about the beaches which don't sound quite how I imagined ! We went on a med cruise a few years ago and did all our own trips on public transport but I don't imagine that would be possible in the Caribbean. Think we will give Maho beach a miss. Thanks for all the tips !
Hi! I hope you don't mind me hijacking OP but you mentioned you've done a Med cruise and organised your own excursions. Hoping to pick your brain as we've just booked our first ever cruise and it seems simpler to book with RC but it's costly and with 2 kids (11 &8) I'm not sure that's ideal.

Hi Tor32

There is lots of info on this forum re Med cruise excursions, just do a search. We've not done our Med cruise yet (or any cruise yet!) but we plan to do several excursions DIY. We're booked on the Disney Magic for September.

We are thinking of doing Herculaneum by train which looks easy, and maybe also go to St Peter's Basilica (Rome) by train. We're planning on booking the Easy Pisa tour with DCL but I gather it's easily doable DIY. As for Villefranche, we just plan to wander round the town, but I have read that trains to nearby locations are easy.

Thanks Gill. I've heard some are more doable on your own!

That's what we're hoping. Need to make those Euros stretch!

I got back from my first cruise a couple of weeks ago and I'm just as enthusiastic as OP, I loved it and will definitely do another.
