Kennedy space centre - tips pls
Last full day is planned for ksc. We've never been before and are traveling with two kids. (8&4).
Can anyone give us tips for the day? Things to do, not to do etc etc |

1. Browse the KSC web site (with the kids) so you know what's there and can plan.
2. Pick up a leaflet at the entrance with a map and times. 3. Don't bother with 'extra cost' items on a first visit. 4. Plan for a full day. 5. The visitor centre is split over 2 sites 7 miles apart - hence the need for the bus. All the moon stuff is at the Apollo/Saturn Center, so allow a couple of hours for that. I would head there late morning - there is a self-service cafe there for lunch sitting under the enormous rocket. 6. The second 'must' is Atlantis. 7. Fit anything else around those - do whatever interests you. 8. Go on a launch day if possible. |

I love KSC, my daughter is sp excited to go, she drags me around the national space centre in Leicester at least once a month so can't wait to see her face!

Back from ksc a few hours ago.
Other than the kids being too young to appreciate it and my wife really not wanting to be there, I really enjoyed it. Did the bus tour to start with, then lunch, then did Atlantis. Truly awe inspiring stuff. Amazing Had planned to 'meet the astronaut' planned at 330. Then realised after a ksc presentation that the astronaut was going to be chatting in Portuguese, so we decided to call it a day. I've always been interested in space. But this has developed a passion in it. Amazing stuff. |

I wasn't sure KSC was my bag - how wrong I was. It was terrific ! You will all love it. IanC gives the right advice - my only change and thought would be to do the coach tour pretty soon after arriving - it's all in the cost. That way you can avoid bigger crowds later - do the Apollo stuff first and the return to the main site and do Atlantis. You will have a great time - enjoy !
