Boca Raton?

Hello,

We are staying in the Waldorf Astoria in Boca Raton for the first 5 days of our holiday. Hubby is at a conference there so it will just be myself and 17 month old son. Just wondering if anyone had been and had recommendations for things to do while we're there?

We have stayed close by at Deerfield Beach and it really is a lovely beach. There used to be a lot of fit mummies buggy walking in the mornings.

We went to the gumbo limbo nature center in Boca Raton
It's a voluntary organisation that rescues sea turtles.
It's not massive but you can walk around the tanks with a buggy and talk to the conservationists there are fish tanks and lots of rescued turtles .
It has a gift shop and some giant turtle models he could climb all over outside!

thank you! Gumbo Limbo is on our list, he really likes turtles so i think it will be a big hit!

We were looking at the water parks but they all seem to close the weekend before we get there

It was lovely I wish I could post pics but I'm useless on here !
The conservationists love their work and they are happy to explain everything, it was quiet when we went and we had our own personal guide!
There's a huge tank with fish and eels in swimming round a wreck.
The turtle pools were so clean and the water really blue , it was a lovely day out for us plus it was near Christmas so they had the gift shop all twinkling with fairy lights and a tree.

Five minutes north is Delray Beach. One of my favourite places in Florida. Perfect amount of small beach town vibe with larger city amenities like restaurants. And of course a great beach!
