Getting Excited
|
Discovery Cove
Haven't been in ages (about 14 years)
I remember being very disappointed. A lot of money for a very brief dolphin encounter. About a 10m swim! Has it changed at all? Thinking of going again for my DD (she wasn't around last time) But can think of better ways to spend the money if it's still the same. Many Thanks

IMO your assessment of the dolphin swim is pretty accurate, although some people love it.
If you love the rest of it, or you can take advantage of the other parks that are included in the ticket prices, then I would say it's well worth it. I feel as if children that are not too young would really enjoy the close proximity to animals, but even that depends on the child. I believe the Freshwater Oasis is new, so you should take a look at that online. The park has got a little busier in my view, but I only really noticed that at meal times. Hope that helps a little. |

We love DC but will agree your assessment of the dolphin swim is fairly accurate. It was very controlled and the swim short. That said i didn't feel disappointed by this, I would have been more disappointed if the dolphin had been 'made' to do more. I felt the level of interaction was respectful of the dolphin and as such enjoyed it greatly. I absolutely love the grand reef, I could literally snorkel in there all day and still be thinking wow when I see something new. The food and drink is OK, the grand reef and aviary excellent in my opinion. If you intend to visit Seaworld and Aquatica anyway I think it's good value but if you weren't getting tickets for those is very expensive. Have you considered going non swim? you can still see the dolphins and enjoy the rest of the park for much less.
