Universal on Black Friday?

I've never been in Florida at this time of the year before so don't really know what to expect. it"s DH's first time and I don't want to totally put him off, but we're only in Orlando for Black Friday and then Wed-Fri the following week.

I was hoping to get into US early on Friday, do 2 or 3 of the busy rides (Gringott's, Simpsons & MIB?) before slowing the pace and taking in the atmosphere and maybe the less busy show type rides (Shrek, Twister and T2-3D?), before heading over to IOA, perhaps via the Hogwarts Express, probably just to walk round. The re-visit (s) the following week should be much quieter and allow us to do more in both parks.

The wait times history appears to suggest that if we get in US for park opening and take note of which rides were quietest last year this may not be a disastrous approach.

Am I deluding myself? Should we do something completely different?

Bump. Surely someone has an opinion or experience to share?

If the published opening time is 9am, are the gates likely to open earlier, or do only on-site guests get in early?

Curious about this one myself. We're doing some shopping in the morning and then possibly heading to Universal that afternoon!

Black Friday is a shopping thing where items get reduced to silly prices to shift old or overstocked products. The theme parks probably won't even notice it much.
