Could we get it any cheaper?

Hi,
Of to Orlando in May. We have a fly-drive booked with BA, indirect from Glasgow via London, cost was £3055 for 4 adults and 3 kids paid £355 deposit. Balance is due on 27th March we're ready to pay. Does anyone think we could get fly drive with Thomson for £2700 - £2900 if we left it as late as 27th March, or should we just settle our bill. We've still to pay to reserve seats, but Thomson charge to reserve seats as well.

Thanks

Historically yes you can get cheaper but that's no guarantee you Will and the price you have certainly isn't bad, probably less stressful to just take what you have

No it's not. 7x£600=£4,200 plus £423 car hire brings total to £4,623

Think you didn't spot the 3 kids as well as the four adults!

Surely if you booked with Thomson for £2900 and lost your deposit you would be worse off? So is that 7 people return or does it include young children who don't pay?

I assumed they would be happy to be a couple of hundred pounds out of pocket if they could fly direct.

I think through Thomson you would struggle to get flights for £400 including seat selection then add on the cost of a vehicle for a 7 seater which will be £500 plus.

I have heard of people getting Thomson flights for £350 return but very late and quite lucky. If your price is for 7 people over the age of 3 with car hire I think it sounds about right.

A month before travel we got flights with Thomson direct from Glasgow for £180 per adult. This was for Scottish Summer Hols. Once Easter is over Thomson usually have some very cheap flights.

It includes 3 paying kids, It would be worth the hit i think going direct on the dreamliner and arriving at Sanford, but right now Thomson are quoting over £4200. Manchesters just a no no, done it the last time. Killer drive home. just thinking if i got the lot for £27-2900, maybe I am dreaming.

Your biggest hurdle will be getting the 7 seats. It's usually the last 2-3-4-5 at a push that go dirt cheap. You can always wait until very last minute to pay your balance if you're prepared to gamble!
